  • HAZWOPER 8 Hour Annual Refresher

    $180 per trainee

    The 8-Hour HAZWOPER Annual Refresher Course provides the OSHA required annual refresher training for employees who have completed the initial 24-Hour or 40-Hour HAZWOPER course. Training requirements, as well as affected employees, can be found in 29 CFR1910.120 (e)(q).

    Workers attending this 8-Hour Annual Refresher Course will cover changes in related regulations, class safety activities, a mock dress-out, health and safety procedures, and personnel protection during work operations at hazardous material sites and many other areas.

    Workers involved in construction, Hazardous Waste Operations, Hazardous Materials Handling, Hazmat Operations, First Responder, Emergency Response, Firemen, Site Safety Officer, Site Supervisor, EHS, OSHA Training. RCRA or EPA Training may all need to take the 8-Hour HAZWOPER OSHA Training Course.

    The content and exercises are updated by True Safety and changed annually, so your employees will not be taking the same HAZWOPER Training Seminar over and over again!

    HAZWOPER Standard

    The HAZWOPER standard applies to five distinct groups of employers and their employees. This includes employees who are exposed or may potentially be exposed to hazardous substances-- including hazardous waste--and are engaged in one of the following operations as specified by 1910.120(a)(1)(i-v) and 1926.65(a)(1)(i-v):

    Clean-up operations-required by a governmental body, whether federal, state, local, or other involving hazardous substances-- that are conducted at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites;

    Corrective actions involving clean-up operations at sites covered by the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976 (RCRA) as amended (42 U.S.C. 6901 et seq.);

    Voluntary clean-up operations at sites recognized by federal, state, local, or other governmental body as uncontrolled hazardous waste sites;

    Operations involving hazardous wastes that are conducted at treatment, storage, and disposal facilities regulated by Title 40 Code of Federal Regulations Parts 264 and 265 pursuant to RCRA, or by agencies under agreement with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to implement RCRA regulations; and

    Emergency response operations for releases of, or substantial threats of release of, hazardous substances regardless of the location of the hazard.

    Who needs 8 Hour HAZWOPER Refresher Training?

    Anyone that already has a 24 Hour or 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification will need to take this refresher course annually to keep their training up to date and compliant with OSHA!

    Workers involved in construction, Hazardous Waste Operations, Hazardous Materials Handling, Hazmat Operations, First Responder, Emergency Response, Firemen, Site Safety Officer, Site Supervisor, EHS, and OSHA Training.     Learning Objectives

    Upon successful completion of the 8 Hour HAZWOPER Seminar, students will:

    PREREQUISITES

    Students should have completed the initial 24-Hour or 40-Hour HAZWOPER OSHA training and have maintained certification through annual refresher training. If certification has not been kept current under OSHA guidelines (each successive year after completing the initial 24-Hour or 40 Hour HAZWOPER), the 24-Hour or 40 Hour HAZWOPER should be re-taken to maintain certification.

    According to 29 CFR1910.120 (e), OSHA requires 24-hours of specialized training for individuals who work on controlled or hazardous sites. 24 Hour HAZWOPER Training is designed for workers who are NOT involved in direct clean-up actions (generally referred to as working conditions that require a protection level of "C or above)

    Employees who work where hazardous materials may be encountered, prepared, packaged, labeled, marked, stored, or shipped for disposal and any facility where hazardous materials are treated, stored, or disposed of will be required to receive 24 Hour HAZWOPER Training!

    Workers attending the 24-Hour HAZWOPER seminar will cover health and safety procedures during work operations at hazardous material sites.

    Who needs 24 Hour HAZWOPER Training?

    24-Hour HAZWOPER Training is for workers that work at controlled or hazardous sites but are not required to deal directly with cleanup, conditions that don’t require a protection level of “C or above.

    Fulfills classroom training requirements for:

    OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120(e)&(q), EPA 40 CFR Parts 264 and 265 (p) and CAL-OSHA Title 8 CCR 5192(e)(3)(A)

    OVERVIEW

    This training meets the 40-hour training requirement set forth and mandated by OSHA, CAL-OSHA, EPA, and all regulated and voluntary clean-up operations (whether state, or federal), TSDF's (Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities), including Emergency Responses. Workers attending this course will receive instruction on health and safety procedures and personnel protection during work operations at hazardous material sites.

    The class is highly interactive and requires student/class participation. All training materials are provided (including a full-course manual). Students are expected to participate during training, including class discussions, hands-on exercises and activities, group tabletops, and a mock dress out.

    Our seasoned Instructors emphasize a practical approach to worksite health and safety so that attendees understand HOW to recognize site hazards and WHAT appropriate steps are required to safeguard personnel and prevent illness & injuries on site.

    40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is required for site workers, emergency response personnel, and those who remediate (clean-up) hazardous waste at controlled and uncontrolled hazardous sites and/or may have the potential for exposure to IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health) atmospheres.

    The emphasis of 40-Hour HAZWOPER training is providing the ability to evaluate site conditions and recognize hazards and risks. This requires the ability to identify and evaluate conditions where assistance may be required and act accordingly.

    CERTIFICATION

    Certification (including a printed Certificate- suitable for framing and a wallet ID card) is awarded at the completion of training and passing a written exam.

    To receive fit-testing, you must produce a valid medical clearance (within the prior 11-months).
